Advent Day 1 Mandala colouring

Advent Day 1 Mandala Colouring

You will find two downloads in this post. One will be a front cover, contents sheet and calm-o-meter (a simple scale for measuring calmness) and the other will be the resource for Day 1. You will find both of them at the end of this post.

The contents sheet will show you what is coming on the run up to Christmas. By the 24th December you will have a file full of resources. I am planning on printing one out and spiral binding it, but any file would do to keep this all together.

Each day during advent a new resource will be published which you can download and use with your pupils. There are a variety of resources, and most will suit all ages.

The resources for each day will appear at 7:00am in the FREE RESOURCE SECTION. I will be sharing photos, and videos on social media each day so make sure you are following me on INSTAGRAM, FACEBOOK AND TIKTOK

I am hoping we can build on the file next year and add more resources to each day.

Merry Christmas to you all and thank you for your continued support this year.

Each day there will be a new activity linked to emotions around the Christmas period.

Today’s resources are all about Mandalas. There are two just to colour in and to discuss the quote. There is one where the pupil has to finish the mandala by drawing carefully over the grey lines and there is a design sheet to make their very own mandala. They can draw, paint, use playdough, paint dots or whatever you think is appropriate. It’s all about making each section the same – radial symmetry.

Benefits of Mandala Colouring:

  • Colouring mandalas can have a calming effect, helping to reduce stress and anxiety levels.
  • Mandala colouring requires attention to detail, which helps enhance concentration and focus.
  • Colouring mandalas allows children to express their creativity and imagination
  • A structured and non-verbal way for children to process and regulate their emotions. It can serve as a soothing outlet for emotional expression.
  • Completing a mandala design gives children a sense of accomplishment. This can boost self-esteem and confidence as they see the tangible results of their efforts.
