What makes me Twinkle and Shine? – Item 528
What makes me Twinkle and Shine?
This is a self esteem activity for children. What sort of things help them to twinkle and shine? What dulls their shine?
Included in the pack is an image of a sparkly star and dull star on A3 paper. There are also pockets that you can attach to each star. Pupils will explore scenarios of what helps to increase their self esteem and what decreases their self esteem. There are 64 scenario cards which pupils can read through with help and put into the correct pocket. This gives lots of opportunity to discuss each one and why it might increase or decrease self esteem. Included in the pack are also blank cards for writing or drawing so pupils can personalise the things that increase their self esteem and things that decrease their self esteem.
Print the stars and pockets on A3
Print the scenarios on A4
There are alternative pockets for older pupils who don’t want faces.
15 pages in this document.
Other uses:
- You could use the stars on a wall as a display. Just print the PDF larger and piece together. Pupils could add things that increase their self esteem and things that decrease their self esteem and an ongoing project.
- You could just use the cards on their own to discuss and set self esteem targets for your pupil.
