How would you feel if…- item 014
‘How would you feel if’ is a game to play with children with lots of scenarios about feelings. Some examples are:
- you are made to wear some trousers that you hate
- You are going to get a new baby brother or sister
- someone tells you a ghost story
- you have no one to play with
- its raining outside and there is nothing to do
Included in the ‘How would you feel if?’ pack is a base board (print on A3 ), 48 Star Scenario cards, A set of feeling’s fans, heart tokens and 6 editable cards for you to add your own scenarios.
The fans are a tool for the child to use whilst playing the game if you feel they are needed. Some children might need that visual prompt to label their feeling.
Of course you could extend this game to ‘How would you problem solve the scenario?’ Investigate ways for first of all labelling the emotion and then exploring ways of problem solving or dealing with the scenario.
An example might be – you have no one to play with. The child can label their feeling and then you can find ways of coping with that. What could you do if you don’t have someone to play with? You could go and ask someone to play with you, tell a teacher that you are feeling lonely so they might help you, you could play on your own and someone might join in with you.
You will need to print, cut and laminate the pieces.
