Feelings Wheel Make your own – Item 576
This resource is included in Emotional Literacy Bundle – Item 601 - take a look and see how much you could save when buying this bundle!
This is a Feelings wheel resource pack where pupils can make their own wheel. This could be a great one to one activity or even a group activity. The purpose is for pupils to learn more vocabulary around emotions. Emotional literacy is so important for pupils being able to express exactly how they feel. Being able to describe their feeling accurately can be so helpful to those they are talking to and there is evidence to suggest that saying their feeling out loud can really reduce the intensity. Next time you feel angry try saying ‘I feel angry’ it really does work.
Included in the feelings wheel pack are 3 feelings wheels, one is pastel colours, one is bright colours and one is black and white. It is all based on the 6 core emotions according to Paul Ekman. Happy, sad, angry, scared, surprised and disgusted.
Vocabulary is provided along with faces for those six emotions but the PDF is also editable for you to add more words if you wish. 36 words are included, 6 for each emotion.
Pupils put the core emotion in the inner circle and then choose three words that relate to that core emotion in the outer circle.
The wheel prints on A3 paper or card. Pupils cut out the circle, words and emojis and then the fun begins. They can put the words into the wheel and move them around until they are happy. Once finished they can glue their words down.
They then have their own wheel that could be displayed on the wall.
