Visualisation photos - Elsa Support for emotional literacy

Visualisation photos

These visualisation photos have been updated for use on a computer or laptop. They are in PowerPoint format.

If you want the printable version you can find them here – Mindful visualisation cards

These visualisation photos can be used to stimulate discussion on feelings and emotions. When you look at a photo it really can make you actually ‘FEEL’ something.

Show the child a photograph and ask the following:

  • What can you ‘see’ ‘hear’, ‘feel’, ‘smell’ or ‘taste’? (Use their senses to describe the photo or imagine what it might be like to be there)
  • What do you think is happening in the picture?
  • Which emotion(s) does it make you feel?
  • Why does it make you feel that way?

There are obviously other questions that will develop from your discussions but I would start off with those 4 questions.
