Understanding ADHD Pupil leaflet – Item 720
This beautifully designed, child-friendly ‘Understanding ADHD Pupil leaflet’ is all about helping children aged 7–11 understand ADHD in a positive, affirming way.
Created with neurodiversity in mind, the leaflet explains what ADHD is, how it can feel, and what support can help. This is all in clear, gentle language that reassures rather than labels. Our leaflet is neuroaffirming throughout.
Children will learn that having ADHD doesn’t mean something is wrong, it simply means their brain works differently. The leaflet explores common experiences like fast thoughts, strong feelings, energy that’s hard to hold in, and the joys of hyperfocus and creativity.
Our Understanding ADHD Pupil leaflet includes:
- Easy-to-understand descriptions of ADHD
- Reassurance that everyone’s brain is unique
- Positive ideas for support at school and home
- Encouraging reminders of self-worth and identity
Perfect for use by teachers, ELSAs, TAs, SENCOs, parents, or carers. This leaflet introduces ADHD in an honest, hopeful, and age-appropriate way.
Whether a child has just received a diagnosis or is exploring how their brain works, this leaflet helps them feel seen, understood, and supported.

It is your responsibility to decide whether the information in this leaflet will be helpful to your pupils.
Under our terms and conditions these leaflets must not be put onto school websites.
They are for printing and giving to pupils at the end of a session or you could use them as a basis for your session. Work through each part with the pupil.
