This is a downloadable resource - once purchased, it will be available for you to download.

Teaching children to recognise, understand, label, and express their emotions is fundamental before expecting them to regulate their emotions. The more they know about emotions then the more likely they will be to say what is bothering them. For example if a young child can say ‘I am angry at you because…’ then they are less likely to throw a tantrum or hit or hurt someone. If they can say ‘I feel worried because…’ then you can help them deal with that worry. In my experience happy children tend to be emotionally literate. A sweeping statement I know but I am sure there is research somewhere that states this.

To teach children emotions early on can really make a difference to their behaviour both at home and at school.

This workbook takes a child through the emotion of anger asking questions like –  What does it look like? What does it sound like? What happens to your body when you feel angry? Can they think of times when they felt angry? There is also lots of new vocabulary to learn which is linked to the emotion of anger.  I have made a game which is included in this download which helps the child to learn the new vocabulary, along with activities within the booklet.

There are 15 pages to the workbook and one page is a certificate which can be given when the child has completed all the activities in the workbook. This workbook is ideal for working one to one with a child but it could also be used for groups or classes. Please look at the image below for an idea of what is included.

This is not an anger management intervention but an intervention to learn about emotions.

"Despite the intense training ELSAs receive, when starting out it can feel overwhelming. Without this website I don’t know where I would have been. The immense availability of incredible resources and support are second to none. There has never been a situation when there hasn’t been a resource available. Debbie the site owner is always working on new resources and will be guided by and listen to all the members voices. Thank you so much!"
