Emotions Train Express – Item 507

This is an emotions train express for younger pupils or pupils that are particularly interested in trains. It is a way of engaging them with a more practical and exciting activity.

Included in the pack is the actual train engine. This has a window where the pupil can pick an emoji face and place it into the window.

There are 22 facial expressions included in the pack on small cards.

The carriages are for looking into more detail about that feeling. There is a feeling words pocket where the pupil can label their emotion. They can write the word on a ticket and put it into the pocket.

The reasons carriage is for discussing why the child feels that emotion. They can write or draw their reason onto the ticket and put it in the pocket.

The coping strategies carriage is for finding ways to help the child feel better. They can write down a way of them coping with this feeling. What can they do? What will help them feel better?

The station is to talk about feelings and think of a plan to help them feel better.

There is a plan worksheet for them to write in more detail what their coping plan will be. There is an emotional register that could be used in class after your session. The emoji faces will fit with this sheet so print another set if it is for home or the classroom.
