Emotions PowerPoints – Item 418

Here are 3 PowerPoints on emotions. Emotions covered are sadness, anger and worries.

Each PowerPoint has 11 slides and all the text is editable. You can create your own personalised intervention using this format. Of course I have given examples for everything already and you can just use it just as it is. The other benefit for our lovely Welsh ELSAs is that you can translate to Welsh.

You need PowerPoint installed on your computer for full editing but you may be able to use this on IPAD with the PowerPoint app added.

To begin – Click ‘slideshow’ then click ‘from beginning’. You MUST be in slideshow mode for the links in the labels to work or the scale to work.

Click on any of the labels to take you to information on that emotion.

There is:

• Vocabulary – discuss different words to use.
• Physical feelings – discuss where you might feel your emotions in your body.
• Triggers – discuss what triggers that emotion
• Thoughts – discuss thoughts you might have
• Scaling – discuss how big the emotion is
• Coping strategies – discuss ways to cope with that emotion
• Self talk – Discuss things you can question or say to yourself
• Affirmations – Discuss positive talk for dealing with the emotion
• Facial expression – Discuss the facial expression
• Traffic light – This is all rolled up into one as a reminder. You could print this slide for the child once it has been personalised with coping strategies etc
