Emotion Cards – Item 456
This is a great set of emotion cards which are highly adaptable with tools to go with them. They have been made with a line down the centre so you can use them as they are or cut them in half to increase the activities you can do with them. Examples would be matching the facial expression to the word or playing pairs games .
Each set of cards shows a facial expression and a synonym of emotion.
Emotions covered are happy, sad, angry, scared, surprised, disgusted, calm, confused, tired, worried, stressed and embarrassed. There are lots of related words which match the same facial expression.
There are also 25 activity cards with ideas on how to use the cards and props such as comic strip, blank face, CBT cycle, speech bubbles, thinking bubbles and blank bodies for investigating body signs of emotion.
There are lots of ways of using these cards to help pupils with their emotional literacy/regulation. The more vocabulary they know the meaning of the better they will become at expressing their feelings.
