Mighty May Wheel of Bravery

The Mighty May Wheel of bravery is a simple, child-led activity that helps children notice moments of confidence, courage, and bravery in everyday life. Using the blank wheel, children can draw or write words, short phrases, or small sentences about brave choices they made, challenges they faced, or moments when they believed in themselves.

The focus is on gentle self-awareness and recognising that confidence grows through small experiences over time. There are no right or wrong answers. Children are encouraged to complete the wheel at their own pace, making it a flexible and inclusive tool that supports emotional wellbeing, resilience, and self-belief.

We offer two versions of the Mighty Wheel:

Mighty May Wheel – Designed for the month of May, this version encourages children to notice moments of bravery such as trying something new, speaking up, asking for help, facing worries, and keeping going when things feel tricky. It helps children reflect on how confidence can grow one small step at a time.

All-Year Mighty Wheel – A flexible, season-neutral version that can be used anytime to support confidence, resilience, and emotional growth throughout the year.

Both wheels are suitable for use in ELSA sessions, classrooms, small groups, or at home. Drawing is encouraged but optional, and minimal writing is required, so children of all ages and abilities can engage confidently with the activity.
