Joyful January Wheel of Joy
The Joyful January wheel of Joy is a simple, child-led activity that helps children notice and celebrate the small things that bring them joy, comfort, or a sense of calm. Using the blank wheel, children can draw or write words, short phrases, or sentences about the people, places, activities, and moments that make them feel good. There are no right or wrong answers, and children are encouraged to complete the wheel at their own pace, making it a flexible and inclusive tool.
We offer two versions of the Joyful Wheel:
Joyful January Wheel – Designed for the quieter winter month, this version encourages children to reflect on cosy, comforting, and everyday joys during January.
All-Year Joy Wheel – A flexible, season-neutral version that can be used anytime throughout the year to support ongoing reflection, calm, and happiness.
Both wheels are suitable for use in ELSA sessions, classrooms, small groups, or at home. Drawing is encouraged but optional, and minimal writing is required, so children of all ages and abilities can engage with the activity.

Print it, colour it, and fill it in — children can return to their wheel whenever they need a reminder of the things that bring them comfort, calm, or happiness.
