Kickstart the new year with positivity using our Joyful January Affirmations resource! Designed to help children (and adults) find happiness in everyday moments, these affirmations can boost confidence, encourage gratitude, and support overall emotional wellbeing.

Why Use Affirmations?

Affirmations help children focus on the positives, build resilience, and develop a growth mindset. By practising daily affirmations, children can:

• Learn to recognise and appreciate small joys
• Develop self-confidence and a sense of gratitude
• Manage stress and difficult emotions more effectively

How to Use Them with Children

1. Morning Routine: Start the day by selecting an affirmation and saying it aloud together.
2. Creative Activities: Write affirmations on colourful paper or create a “Joy Jar” where children can pick one daily.
3. Reflection Time: Encourage children to share how the affirmation helped them during the day.
4. Group Discussions: Use affirmations as conversation starters about happiness and gratitude.

Included in the pack is a sheet with lots of affirmations and a cut off slip at the bottom for children to either copy their favourite or write their own. There is also an instruction sheet.
