How do others see you?

How Do Others See You? is a positive, strengths-based activity designed to help children explore the qualities and character traits that others may notice and appreciate in them. Using the mirror template and example words, children are encouraged to reflect on how friends, family members, teachers, and other trusted adults might describe them.

Many children find it easier to spot strengths in others than in themselves. This activity provides an opportunity to recognise kindness, creativity, determination, humour, helpfulness, and many other positive qualities that contribute to a healthy sense of self-worth.

The resource can be used as an individual reflection activity, as part of ELSA sessions, wellbeing work, circle time, transition support, or self-esteem interventions. It can also encourage meaningful conversations between children and the important people in their lives.
