Emotions Four in a Row Game
Make learning about emotions fun with this engaging Four in a Row game!
The Emotions Four in a Row Game gives children an enjoyable way to explore feelings while playing a familiar game. It can be used to encourage conversations about emotions and help pupils develop their emotional literacy in a relaxed, interactive way.
Use this resource during an individual ELSA session or as part of small-group work. Games can provide a helpful starting point for talking about feelings, giving children opportunities to practise recognising emotions and sharing their thoughts without the pressure of a formal discussion.
You could extend the activity by asking children to describe a time they experienced a particular feeling, explain how they recognise that emotion in themselves or think about what might help when they experience a difficult emotion.
This resource can support children to:
- Develop their feelings vocabulary.
- Recognise and name different emotions.
- Build confidence when talking about feelings.
- Develop emotional awareness.
- Practise turn-taking and playing together.
A fun, practical addition to your ELSA resources, combining play with opportunities to explore emotions and develop children’s understanding of feelings.
