5 Day Belonging Challenge – Children’s Mental Health Week
Help children explore belonging and connection with this fun, flexible 5-day challenge designed for Children’s Mental Health Week. Each day introduces a simple, hands-on activity to encourage children to reflect on what makes them feel included, safe, and valued in their school, home, or community.
How it works:
- Each day has a different theme and activity: drawing, colouring, discussion prompts, or simple games
- Activities are suitable for EYFS through KS2, with easy adult guidance for adaptation
- Encourages children to think about their own place, the people around them, and ways to include others
- Can be used in the classroom, small groups, or at home
Example activities:
- Day 1: Identifying a place where you feel comfortable
- Day 2: Thinking about people who make you feel included
- Day 3: Sharing what makes you, YOU
- Day 4: Sharing ways to make others feel included
- Day 5: Reflecting on what makes you feel you belong
This ready-to-use, printable resource supports children in developing a sense of belonging, building social and emotional skills, and fostering positive connections with the people and places around them.
